March 2006 - May 2006

There was significant work accomplished during the final quarter of Year 1 (Milestone) for our OLT project. Accomplishments include finalizing the General Skills and Business Inventories in Canupawakpa Dakota Nation, providing technology workshop training, CIM-Net training, other training and establishment of other outside partnerships.
The Asset Mapping exercise was completed as a result of the expertise of Function Four and CIM-Net along with the support from the Canupawakpa Dakota Nation (more specifically includes Carrie Chaske and Noella Eagle) has allowed us to complete this benchmarking activity.
MB E is also continuing to develop Interactive Training Modules (ITMs) as a training mechanism for those individuals with computers at home and want to learn at their own pace. The intent of these training tools is to provide an alternative means of learning as opposed to the traditional “face-to-face” delivery.
Stacey Rogers and Meghan Bodner have also been providing “hands-on” training in Canupawakpa so that local organizations could market their services. Canupawakpa will be provided with a link from the MB E website so that they can showcase their services via the web.
MB E-Association is extremely excited about a recent partnership with the Broadband Department under Manitoba Energy, Science and Technology (EST) to provide an e-Learning “Pilot” into Canupawakpa. The project includes providing video conferencing equipment into the Canupawakpa Adult Education Centre as well as providing instructors for 2 high school (credit courses) through the Southwest Horizons School Division for a period of 10 months commencing in September 2006 through to June 2007.
